HAPPY 114th INDEPENDENCE DAY to all Filipinos out there!

Has it really been that long since Rizal, Bonifacio, and all our other heroes fought against foreign powers for our freedom? Yes, it has-which is why it's always such a celebration for us. Come to think of it, our country is very young when it comes to being independent and being on our own. To some people, they may feel like they're ashamed to be from here, but I am proud to be a Filipino. We are a strong and clever race who can survive almost anything we face, and although others make us feel inferior at times, we still find a way to stand out, be ourselves and put a smile on our faces.

I don't know if you can tell, but I'm wearing an Independence Day outfit :)) my outfit consists of the colors of the Philippine Flag. My blue top, which is at the upper part of my body because it's in the upper part of the flag(which symbolizes freedom) is a sequined filled blouse. I chose this because I wanted blue to be the dominant color of the outfit because it is Independence Day and our focus is freedom(?) hahaha (I'm weird, i know!). I wore red for my shoes because [in our flag] it symbolizes war, which should be under or below freedom. I didn't know how to incorporate yellow in my outfit, so instead I wore a gold collar necklace, and ta-da! There goes my outfit :)

Peachy

 dress SM GTW

I took this rare opportunity to take pictures in Bonifacio High Street because there were no people outside! haha not a single soul was out there (okay maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I swear there were barely anyone outside). This is because today is Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley's boxing match. Everyone was watching and anticipating who will win this really talked about fight. Unfortunately, Pacquiao lost, which brought great distraught to the people in the restaurant where we were eating/watching, but I guess it is inevitable for people to lose or fail at something within their lifespan, and this would be one of those times for Manny. He can this take as constructive criticism and an opportunity to train more. (and he's trending on twitter!)

No, I am not peachy because he lost. It just so happens that I chose to wear peach today(maybe I thought he would win?). I really like this color because it feels very clean and dainty, but not too girly(?)Well anyway, the dress was very flowy and I liked the cut because it wasn't challenging to wear compared to a dress that would have spaghetti straps, etc. I chose nude wedges because I wanted to be comfortable in church and I wanted to have a neutral color because the color of my dress is very pleasant(not loud) to the eyes, and I wanted to keep it that way.

Aside from the excitement from the boxing fight today, I was also very excited to receive a package today. No, not from a special someone or a shipment from an online store, but a package from the province. During the time I was in the province last summer, I had the chance to look at my parents' old clothes that they store there in case they needed or something like that, and I stumbled upon these cute vintage pieces that were my parents' clothes from when they were younger. I instantly fell in love with the patterns, colors, and I was surprised that these clothes are actually quite trendy nowadays and are acceptable to wear again. So while I was there, I chose some clothes that I liked, but then I forgot to bring them here in Manila so I had them sent here. My favorite one is this long black dress that had this flower lace detail in the chest area and is almost long enough to be a maxi. I have so many ideas on how to wear these clothes or how to alter them, and I'm so excited to incorporate them in future outfits!

A Day to be Recognized

shoes from Fancy Flats | bag from Cole Vintage
Today is my brother's recognition day, and I'm very proud of him \:D/ he may seem like a laid-back and chill person, and he may annoy me a lot when he's playing his Tchiakovsky music while I'm studying (hihi), but I'm very happy that he was able to receive an award for having good grades.

My initial plan was to go to his recognition during my break, but as it happens, my Calculus professor didn't arrive. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad one, but at least I got to do something and I was able to check out the recognition right.? :))

After his recognition, we had lunch at TGIFridays :") i tralalaove food there.
