08.06.2012 Rain Comfort Food

After school, my bestfriend and I decided to go out to Bonifacio High Street and eat out. We decided to eat at Bon Chon (even though there's one near school) because there's less people and so that we wouldn't worry about how to get home. Besides, we've been craving this Crispy Chicken Bulgogi since the first time we saw the poster. Also, the weather was perfect for a hot and crispy chicken meal. We haven't really had time to hang out because everyone's been so busy, and today we had an opportunity to chill out because I have a free cut :") Unfortunately, my camera went low batt and so I had to use my iTouch to take this picture, and because of that we got kind of lazy to take more pictures. You guys should try it, it's really good :") OM NOM NOM

It's Sunday today, which means Family Day (FTW!) My family and I just had a casual lunch after church at MOA and remembered that there's a Forever21 shop there now. After eating lunch, we decided to go there and check out how it looks and check if there's anything we might like. Right when I stepped in, I immediately became nostalgic because that's how the Forever21 looks like in the mall near where we used to live in the States. After a few rounds, I was able to pick up some stuff. I swear, everytime I'm in a Forever21 store, I always get overwhelmed by the hundreds of clothes that are in there.

While we were walking around the mall, I noticed this Painting Exhibit that MOA had in the middle of their activity center. For some reason, SM's getting all artsy today because beside that there was a Photo Exhibit (which I wasn't able to look at because of hunger reasons :P ).

As usual, the weather was being bipolar again because this morning it was perfectly sunny then it started raining really hard again.

A Day to be Recognized

 Today is my brother's recognition day, and I'm very proud of him \:D/ he may seem like a laid-back and chill person, and he may annoy me a lot when he's playing his Tchiakovsky music while I'm studying (hihi), but I'm very happy that he was able to receive an award for having good grades.

My initial plan was to go to his recognition during my break, but as it happens, my Calculus professor didn't arrive. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad one, but at least I got to do something and I was able to check out the recognition right.? :))

After his recognition, we had lunch at TGIFridays :") i tralalaove food there.

After a loooooong wait, I was finally able to watch the Hunger Games \:D/

Well actually, when I was a senior in high school, I used to think the Hunger Games was a boring story about the future, yada yada yada. My bestfriend Rowen was encouraging us to read it, but I didn't want to. Little did I know, the story is nice pala! :))

After watching the movie, my family and I had a pizza dinner, after we had dessert :")

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY \:D/ 

Even though I wasn't able to go out on a romantic date today, my mom set-up a little Valentine's dinner for our family. It was simple, but it was cool to hang out with them this day. I usually go out with my friends on a day like this, but I was a little lazy because the weather was chill, so I decided to stay in and celebrate it with them. My mom bought a cake (see the chocolate in the middle.? yeah i ate all of it HAHA) and she cooked some spaghetti & chicken. Also she decorated our house with a lot of roses and heart cut-outs. It was really adorable and she dedicated her afternoon doing it. 

After dinner, our parents gave us (my sibs) each a present to open, and inside were chocolate \:D/ wooh. A little sugar wouldn't hurt today, right.? I mean it is Valentine's :P For the second picture, my brother gave my mom a bouquet of "roses" that he made himself. It was really cute, creative, thoughtful and not to mention very affordable =)) 

Candle-lit dinners are overrated anyway. Besides, tons of horrible things could happen because of that, so why not celebrate Valentine's one time with just the family in a simple yet happy blowout. :D

Home Made Wicked Oreos!

Today, my best friend Sam and I attempted to make this dessert that we first found out about in a restaurant called "Flaming Wings". Basically, it is fried battered Oreos topped with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon. Unfortunately, we ran out of cinnamon, so we used chocolate syrup instead. It does seem very unhealthy, but everyone needs to cheat on their everyday diet once in a while. haha. This was our first time to cook or make this so we kind of left it in the pan a little longer than we should have, which explains the brown color. All in all, it's a unique dessert than everyone should try out, either to cook it or order it. 

If you guys want to try and make some.. here's the recipe we used :) ..


ingredients: 
1. Oreos or any kind of chocolate biscuits with cream filling
2. Pancake Mix
3. Vanilla Ice Cream
4. Cinnamon Powder or Chocolate Syrup
5. cooking oil
6. Sprinkles or Cherries (optional)

Procedure: 

1. 30 minutes before making the dessert, place the Oreos in the freezer.

2.Use the pancake mix as batter. Once the batter is ready and the Oreos time in the freezer is done, dip the Oreos in the mix.

3. Heat the pan where you're gonna cook along with the cooking oil

4. Once the oil has small bubbles, deep fry the Oreos that were dipped in the pancake mix. If you want an extra poof, scoop the Oreos with a spoon or tongs with some batter then dip it in the oil. 

5.Keep a watchful eye on the Oreos and flip them as soon as they turn golden brown(something that we obviously didn't do the first time haha).

6.Place the finished fried Oreos on a saucer or plate then top it with Vanilla Ice Cream, Cinnamon/Chocolate Syrup and a Cherry.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

ARMY NAVY \:D/

So i'm pretty sure some of you guys have heard of the fast food place called ARMY NAVY. Well for those who don't.. this place sells really good burgers, fries, burritos and chicken for a reasonable price, and i LOOOVE their iced tea, which is called the LiberTEA. ;) I know for a fact that it has a number of locations in the Philippines so if you guys ever see one, i recommend that you eat there. :D 

for me, it was definitely mission accomplished :))
