Uniqlo UU and Sale

There was a time in third grade that some of my friends would call me Snoopy Girl because I had so many clothes that were Snoopy inspired hahaha

Uniqlo, a well know Japanese clothing store that recently opened here in the Philippines, released a new collection called the Uniqlo Undercover or UU. It's composed mostly of winter-ready stuff that are super soft and will definitely keep you warm for those cold days. I wasn't really able to take pictures of the collection, just a quick overview, because I kind of focused more on the sale and the whole store itself. I mean I've been in it, but usually it's full of people so I never really get to stay long. Anyway, I went to their website to get pictures of the thinks I actually did like in the collection. I chose a few pieces in their collection that I liked and I find is very wearable even in our kind of weather (except the last one).First, I really like their super soft caridgans, because they seem so comfortable and I like the color hihi. Second, the total opposite of soft, yet still very comfortable is the leather jacket. As you guys can see, my style fluctuates a lot and I have no definite style. Next is I really like their tapered corduroy pants(I liked it in a maroon color, but I couldn't find a picture). Last but not least, I find the red outerwear with gold buttons so cute! It's for kids, but I wouldn't mind having one haha! If you guys want to see the rest of the clothes, go to Uniqlo Undercover.
Of course we couldn't miss out on taking photos of ourselves haha. I opted for something very casual and comfortable that day because a, I commuted going to school b, I still had to go back to school after this little shopping trip to MOA. You guys like them studs on my collar? :") I put them on by myself. I liked my friend's outfit though, it was very Manhattan-y preppy.
......aaaand last, i couldn't help but take a picture of this little exhibit MOA was having on LEGO blocks. I just hate those shadows for ruining my shot -_- haha

Carlos Celdran's Walking Tour of Intramuros

our awesome tour guide, Carlos Celdran
 Fort Santiago
For his tour, Carlos gives away local chocolates! om nom nom :)
kids who were with us on the tour, they seemed very interested.
did you know that ceiling is painted? it was done because WWII brought so much damage to Intramuros that it also destroyed the original ceiling of this church
having a refreshing cup of halo-halo after the tour
this cute little boy was giving out souvenirs after the tour.
Manila Cathedral

Ever since we were 14, my bestfriend Sam and I have always wanted to go on a tour of Intramuros. Yes, we've been here a couple of times, but we've heard that Carlos Celdran does a good job of explaining things around here. Also, we've been a little busy with a lot of what's going on in our lives right now which is why we didn't have the time to actually plan it out and sign up for his tour. Well, we finally have and it was definitely worth it! First we went to Fort Santiago, where he explained a lot about the Spanish colonization in our country and had a bit of introduction on the American colonization period. Then we went to the original location of Ateneo de Manila, where Jose Rizal studied. We were able to arrive at our destination riding a kalesa. There he explained about the American colonization in our country. Our final stop was at the San Agustin Church. After the tour, he treat all of us to some refreshing halo-halo, which he explained to be a metaphorical representation of Filipinos because of the bountiful mix in our culture.

His tour was unlike most tours wherein the tour guide points at something and explains it. His had more depth. He would gather everyone around in one place and that's where he would start talking about the history. He had a portfolio of pictures that guided him as he spoke. We could tell that he is really into his job and that it's not just for compulsory and it seemed like he was really passionate about changing how we should view Manila.

What I especially liked about this tour is that when we would walk to or next destination, Carlos would hold a casette player that had background music from the old times. It really took out the stress in walking under the heat of the sun.

Next stop: The Imelda Tour!

inspirational quote he said after the tour: "If you want to see Manila change the way it looks, you should change the way you look at Manila"-Carlos Celdran

I was so lucky to have been given an opportunity to be able to go to the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012. I have been very much into fashion and photography lately, so I really enjoyed this experience. Overall, I liked the collections that I was able to see. I can say that the designers are very creative and innovative with their designs.

For the menswear, my favorite collection was Frederick Policarpio's. I liked it because he made a lot of suits and blazers, which I really like for men. Also, he used a blue color palette, which I am very into right now. I also liked Dodjie Batu's collection because it was very colorful and wearable. I know fashion is supposed to be taking risks and veering away from trends, but I liked it because it's not too architectural and can be work by men casually.

As for the Premiere B Collection, my favorite one was Albert Andrada's. His collection was very dainty, pure, clean and very well made. I really liked it. It felt cool(not warm) to wear, and his presentation was very interesting. There was a story behind the show which caught a lot of the audiences' attention. I also liked his mini surprises wherein he made the models wear kimonos first only to reveal the beautiful gowns underneath. My second favorite one was Ezra Santos's collection because he made use of soft pink colors(almost rugged) and tulle. I really like the tulle fabric because you could have so many layers and still have a soft feel for the clothes.

Above are pictures of my top picks for every designer's collection I was able to see :)

comments are much appreciated! thank you :)
